Wanna ride the tide?
Head for the main break on Jersey’s west coast surf beach at St Ouen’s Bay and hang five with the locals. Don’t miss the chance to try this inspiring sport. Paddle out into the Atlantic, wait to catch that wave and then hurtle back towards the shore on one of the Island’s wildest and scenic beaches. Other good spots include Plémont and Grève de Lecq. Jersey is home to one of the world’s oldest surfing clubs and conditions can be great. Surf schools, surf hire and surf advice all available.

Surfers - be aware that Jersey has one of the largest tides in the world and the difference between high and low tide can be as much as 40 ft. This means many spots only work on certain tides or for small periods of time and local knowledge of wind, swell and tidal conditions is essential for getting the most out of whatever size swell is around. If in any doubt, ask before you go in. It could save you from being rescued when the beach you paddled out from is cut off by a fast flooding tide.
